It is true... Diablo 3 has finally been announced by Blizzard! Check it out at Blizzard's official website for Diablo III. While you are there, be sure to watch the gameplay video and cinematic trailers. Currently there is no specified expected release date, and only two character classes (Barbarian and Witch Doctor) have been announced among a few other things. Be sure to keep checking back with us to get up to date news about the upcoming Diablo III! I would also like to mention that Realmgaming will be going through some changes and updates to go along with the announcement of D3, so the site may be down for small periods of time during these updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

I know it has been awhile since we have had a news post here, so here is one for you. First I would like to thank HOFX, killen4fun, and Dingle for their donations that they made to the site. Next, I would like to inform you that I plan to update the site early next week. During the updates, the site will be down shortly. I do not have a date for this set yet, but I can tell you that it will probably be done around 2 or 3 AM PST in order to keep those that would be affected at a minimum. Lastly, I would like to inform you that another early pre-release of "Project Blood" (The RealmGaming MMORPG) will be available next week. Along with the playable demo (although it may be still too early to call it a demo), I will also be releasing the official name of the game as well as the website for the game. I would also like to note that although the game will have a separate website, the forums for the game will still be here. (Edit: Postponed... Sorry )

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...1&pageNo=15QUOTE We're planning to shrink the min range on ranged attacks to reduce or eliminate the "dead zone". The only point to the dead zone was to ensure the min range on ranged weapons was enough such that ranged weapon attacks wouldn't be used while also being melee'd (at least by mobs... players have a bit of slush built in). Deadzone = gone. Prepare to be killed by QQing huntards even more!

I am announcing a project that I have been working on. Project Blood's aim is to create a MMORPG. So far it is still in its very early stages, and I mean very early. So far you can only run around in a small little world, this demo I have released shows how the controls and camera will work. Here are some early screenshots: Screenshot 1 - Early Test ScreenshotScreenshot 2 - Landscape ExampleBut before I tell you about how to download the demo I would like to post a request I have. I am currently looking for anyone who is skilled in 3d modeling especially human or human like figures or even object modeling for scenery. Also I am looking for storyline ideas so if you are good at writing storylines or have a good storyline idea, please let me know. Now for the demo. One note about it is that I know the demo level looks very modern, however I plan on making the actual game more fantasy/medieval. Here is the Readme: CODE Project Blood: a RG RPG by RealmGaming Entertainment v0.01b Website: http://realmgaming.net ____________________________________________________
About: Currently the game is still in the creation stage and this is just a demo of some of the functionality of the game. So far only the camera and character movement have been implemented. Keep checking for updates from http://realmgaming.net (I would also like to note that the official name of this game has been decided and will be released at a later time.)
Requirements: Since the game is in its early stages, the computer requirements are unknown however it is known that your graphics card drivers should be up to date because the game requires openGL 1.2 or newer to run. (In future versions, directX will also be supported.) Also a Windows operating system of 98, ME, NT 4, 2000, XP, or XP64 is required. (Compatibility with Vista is unknown. If you run Vista and the game works for you, please let me know.) In the future, Linux, MaxOS, and Sun Solaris/SPARC will also be supported. One last thing to note is that you should have a computer with a numpad as the current controls require the use of one.
Installing: Extract all files to the same folder and open RG_RPG-0_01b.exe to run the game. Uninstalling: Delete all files that were extracted. Controls: Move forward: Numpad8 Move left: Numpad4 Move right: Numpad6 Move down: Numpad2 Walk/Run toggle: Numpad / Autorun: While running forward hit Numpad7 First Person/Third Person Toggle: Numpad5 Third Person Only Conrols: Zoom In: Numpad 9 Zoom Out: Numpad 3 Move Camera Left: Left Arrow Move Camera Right: Right Arrow Move Camera Up: Up Arrow Move Camera Down: Down Arrow Close Game: Alt+F4 Known Bugs: Character still dispayed when in first person mode. At certain angles, the camera can see through walls. Movement speed is varies depending on fps, so on a faster computer you will move faster. Stairs are quite buggy as you can get stuck on them. If you go upstairs you can fall off the edge of the map into the abyss. Not sure if this is a bug or just computers not meeting system requirements, but on some computers the screen will just come up black and white and not really display anything useful. If this happens to you, please let me know and include your system specs (It would be nice to get your openGL version too.) Planned for Next Version: Linux Support Network support Improved Smoother Movement Fixed Bugs Version History: 0.01b - Autorun is now cancelled when you try to run the opposite way. 0.01 - First Version Working First Implementation of Camera/Movement System Contact Info: You can contact me via Private Message on http://realmgaming.net Account Name: LeftAnswer Download Project Blood v0.01b Download is no longer available, check back soon for the next version! If you find any additional bugs than the one listed, please be sure to post them here. Also all comments are welcome.\ Enjoy -LeftAnswer

Well I got back today from two days I'll never forget. Still not sure if I was blown away from the great job that Blizzard did with setting up the convention or from all the after-convention fun I had with some great guys from TeamLiquid.net and Warbucket.com. There was loads of information flooding into my ears and eyes throughout the whole 2-day period so I don't think I could write up a big report on the whole event, but if there are any questions on stuff I didn't comment on you can go ahead and ask here.
There is alot of information here but it is really condensed and I left out alot of random stuff. This is pretty much a mini-essay with all the highlights of the event which popped into my mind as I was writing this.
Me and my friend from Warbucket arrive at Anaheim and head straight to the event. Registration line was nearly non-existent and we were in within minutes of arriving. As soon as we walked through the doors we were blown away by the amount of work Blizzard put into the event. As you walk through the main entrance you come face to face with like a 15-foot tall statue of Illidan complete with rock base, massive wings, and glowing eyes and body inscriptions. It was a beautiful display with plenty of detail. As you look around you see massive prints of Blizzard artwork on stands or hanging from the ceiling. Enormous prints of the Lich King and Jim Raynor plus many more.
So after our minute of shock and awe we went straight to the Starcraft II testing section. You had either the choice of playing 2v2 as Terran or Protoss, or doing a small single-player campaign. Me and my friend, being long-time Starcraft gamers, went for the 2v2 line and after like 15 minutes of waiting we were assigned tables. My immediate impressions of the game as a whole were awesome. I was amazed at how good the game looked and how they managed to maintain a fast and smooth engine. Of course they were using top of the line Intel rigs to power the games, but you could tell that the engine itself was built well and that the game itself was coded extremely well. Zerg was not available and we learned later that it was because they're still in development of it and there is hardly anything completed for it, just a shitload of ideas to work with. We played 5 matches throughout the event and held a 4-1 record (Team Coonhound fighting~). There were lots of new units and features that blew us away. Noteable ones would be: -New Nuke animations are amazing -Terran Drop-pod allows a Ghost to call down a drop of 6 marines in a pod anywhere on the map. -New Terran unit called Thor. Just a massive machine that has to be built as a building. Just think of a hotel with legs and cannons. -Protoss Zealot Charge upgrade is amazing. Not only does it look good but it rapes the shit out of anything missile. -Protoss Warp Gate concept is really cool but may need a little bit of practice to get good at using it -Photon Cannons can now be moved
So after that we went to watch a few amazing games of the StarCraft Pro Gamer's Invitational tournament. I won't go in-depth with that because it'll bore the living shit out of all of you guys. :D
The Starcraft II Development Panel yielded alot of information regarding single-player aspects of the game and balance. Outside of actual missions, you can actually control the main character of the campaign in his base (in this case it was Jim Raynor in the Battle Cruiser Hyperion). You can go to different sections of the ship and talk to different people to gain missions in different areas. The storyline is continuous and has one end but you can choose which path you take to get there. Another interesting feature was the fact that in order to use higher tier units in later missions you had to purchase the technologies using money you gained from completing missions. Blizzard had one very solid rule for balance which I agreed with 100% of the way. They said for every new unit they added to the game, they had to get rid of an old one. That way they can maintain balance, while rethinking and transforming the game and it's storyline.
The WoW expansion was announced at the opening ceremony of the event, but unfortunately for you guys I didn't have too much passion for going nuts about it. I did gather some interesting information which is probably already available to you in Elfangor's post. They discussed alot about the storyline and about the new continent of Northerend. Gave lots of information about the new mobs you'll find and the races of creatures and allies you'll find there. They said they would make the game more interactive with players as well (ex. while you're questing somewhere, you get a daydream and the Lich King tells you to play StarCraft II and quit WoW [Haha sorry, example isn't completely a joke though. Just that last part.]).
I'm sure you guys already saw pictures of the Frostmourne by now, but yes the Frostmourne is going to be available as an item. From what I remembered it had a 4.00 attack speed, ridiculous base damage, +200 to Strength and Stamina, +150 to Intellect (Paladins suck), and it turned the wielder of the sword into the Lich King. I'm assuming only one person can have this status effect at a time so it will be interesting to see what Blizzard does with this.
On the second day it was pretty much watching the Starcraft Finals (which were amazing) and the concert. A few demos and bits of information on that day as well, but we packed most of it into the first day. The concert was awesome. Level 70 Elite Tauren Cheiftain (Samwise Didier [The guy who pretty much makes all the Blizzard games look the way they do and designs half the characters] and Mike Morhaime [President of Blizzard] were both in the band) played some hilarious songs and really kicked off the night with some Heavy Metal. Samwise really riled on the crown by talking trash to the Alliance and getting the Horde players pumped up (Hell yea!). After they stopped playing the crowd went insane yelling "FOR THE HORDE!" and "ALLIANCE" for like 30 minutes while waiting for Video Games Live to start. Then my mind was blown.
Video Game Live had an amazing performance. They are a full orchesta, full choir and full rock band in one. They covered all segments of Blizzard Music for the whole hour. They played music from every game except Warcraft II (sadface). My favorites were the Diablo I music from Tristram and the Terran music from Starcraft. Performances were dead-on and sounded amazing. You could hear the crowd just going insane with nostalgia when they started playing the Tristram theme. I felt like I was sitting at home like 8 years ago breaking my mouse because there was nothing to do in Diablo I but run around and click until you won. But wow I love that game.
Overall it was an amazing event and I will be there next year without a doubt.
If you guys have any questions on anything just go ahead and ask. What you read here is like 1/10000th of the information that was presented at Blizzcon.
